EU consultations on packaging: have your say on the next Commission acts

Until 16 September, the European Commission is collecting feedback on the following topics:

• Packaging and packaging waste – sustainability criteria for plastic recycling technologies (give feedback here).
• Packaging and packaging waste – conditions for importing recycled materials into the EU for use in packaging (give feedback here).
• Plastic packaging – harmonisation of rules for calculating and verifying recycled content in plastic packaging (give feedback here).

EU PPWR: stakeholders can give their views on the upcoming rules

The Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation (PPWR) requires the Commission to establish:

• Methodology for calculating and verifying recycled content recovered from post-consumer plastic waste, and the format for technical documentation.
• Sustainability criteria for plastic recycling technologies.
• Methodology for assessing, verifying and certifying equivalence, including through third-party audits, where the recycled content is recovered from post consumer plastic waste collected or recycled in a third country.

From August 14 to September 16, stakeholders can submit their feedback on these topics and help shape the future acts.
