Machinery is an assembly of movable components joined together for a specific application and powered by energy other than human or animal effort.
Specifically, this category covers interchangeable equipment, safety components, lifting accessories, chains, ropes, webbing, removable mechanical transmission devices, and partly completed machinery. In the European Union, Directive 2006/42/EC on Machinery applies to such products. Lately, the EU has been working on the adoption of a new Regulation on machinery to update the current regulatory framework in light of the new digital technologies.
In the Library of Documents below, you can find public documents on the machinery legislative framework in only one place and divided into different sections. Among others, you will have access to guidelines, documents on notified bodies, standards, and many more.
