Toys and children’s products

Toys are products for use in play by children under 14 years old. To be sold in the European Union, toys must respect strict safety requirements and not represent any safety or health risks for children, considering the behaviour of children as well as their supervisors.

In the Member States of the EU, Directive 2009/48/EC on Safety of Toys apply to such products. This Directive sets the requirements that toys must respect to be sold in the European Union, such as requirements for labels, instruction for use, warnings, and conformity assessment procedures.
